A statue of Happy Days character Arthur ‘Fonzie’ Fonzarelli is to be erected in his `hometown’ of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
The bronze likeness will go up in the city – where the 1970s show was set – thanks to $84,000 in donations raised by residents and fans of the long running U.S. TV sitcom.
Henry Winkler, who played the leather-clad lady-killer, describes the Bronze Isthe Fonz project as a “phenomenal compliment”.
“It’s not often you have a dream when you’re seven, lying in your bed, (and) you get to live your dream out and then someone is going to erect a life-size statue of your creation,” he said.
