Former Starsky and Hutch star Paul Michael Glaser is set to return to the small screen as a contestant on Channel 4′s Celebrity Big Brother.
The 63-year-old, who also appeared in the film musical Fiddler On The Roof as well as directing Arnold Schwarzenegger in The Running Man, is considered to be a real scoop by Channel 4 and is set to get over £100,000, most of it donated to an AIDS charity set up by his wife who died from the condition.
“Getting Paul Michael Glaser will help pull in viewers,” said a telly source. “He’s worth every penny being paid to know more about his life story. From his role in the cult TV show through to dealing with the death of his wife Elizabeth who was infected with AIDS via a blood transfusion and passed it on to both of her children. This will be captivating stuff.”
While details of who will be appearing in the Big Brother house won’t be officially announced until January 3, TV insiders have been leaking information on a some of the 12 contestants.
