Simmons Stumped By Sciene Question

Published on November 10, 2008 with No Comments

Rocker Gene Simmons missed out on a big $1 million prize when he was stumped by a kids’ science question on hit US quiz show Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?

The Kiss star wowed viewers and audience members with his general knowledge when he appeared on the show and quickly raked in $500,000 in prize money.

But he chose to keep the cash rather than guess at what the letter K represents on the Periodic Table of Elements – and win a million.

As it turned out, he was wise to walk away – he would have guessed krypton and the correct answer was potassium.

Simmons will donate his prize money to the Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.
