Seinfeld Recalls Bee Research

Funnyman Jerry Seinfeld discovered he’ll never be an honorary bee, despite playing one in new animated film Bee Movie, after getting stung by one.

The comedian researched his role as a cartoon bee in the film by visiting a beekeeper – and he felt so confident, he chose not to wear protection.

Seinfeld recalls: “The beekeeper said, `You don’t need to wear any protective gear because, if you handle bees properly, they will not sting you’. Well, he didn’t know what he was talking about and I think he got excited that he had a celebrity come and look at his bees.”

Seinfeld adde: “He said, `Do you want to see the Queen?’ and I said, `OK,’ so he started pulling things out, looking for the Queen. Well the bees weren’t too crazy about that. They like the Queen to be left alone: `Don’t mess with our Queen!’ So they sent this bee on a suicide mission – to get me. I felt like I was stung by one of my own.”
