Nikki GrahameReality TV show contestant Nikki Grahame has been named best new TV contender award at the annual National Television Awards which are voted by the British public.

During the summer, the 24-year-old star of the hit Channel 4 show Big Brother was loved and hated by the pubic for her constant tantrums and over the top hand gestures in which she expressed her views on life.

During the series she became an item with winner Pete Bennett, though weeks after the series ended, so did their relationship.

Prior to Big Brother her previous TV acting included being an extra for the day in soap opera Eastenders. The popular soap is filmed in Elstree, near her Watford home.

During Big Brother, Grahame’s grandfather told tabloid newspaper Sunday Mirror that it was the first time in 20 years that he has seen his granddaughter.

Marcel Goldhagen, who lives in Hendon, north west London is the father of Grahame’s dad David and has not spoken to his son since they had a family row. Eventually he himself split from Grahame’s mother Sue.

“I lost contact with David and since then I have had nothing to do with his family,” he revealed.
