American Idol judge Paula Abdul is set to come to Israel for Chanukah and Israeli Tourist Minister Isaac Herzog has also offered to try and find her a potential Jewish husband.
Abdul, 44, who scored a worldwide hit with Opposites Attract in the late 1980s, also publically revealed her strong Jewish background according to Israeli website Ynet.
At a meeting with Herzog who was in Los Angeles, she said: “Not many people know, but both my parents are Jewish. My father is a Syrian Jew whose family immigrated to Brazil. My mother is Canadian with Jewish roots,” she said.
“My dream is to visit Israel, go to the Dead Sea, to tour the Western Wall and other holy sites,” Abdul added.
Herzog then suggested that he could find a “nice Jewish match” for the entertainer.
And Abdul said money is not an issue, only happiness.
“He has to be a nice boy, I don’t mind if he doesn’t have much money, as long as my parents are happy,” she said.
