The proposed collaboration between Amy Winehouse and troubled rock star Pete Doherty has hit a buffer after the English jazz singer refused to record a cover of a Billie Holiday song.
The 23-year-old Rehab singer says she wants to work with the star who is battling drug problems but didn’t want to do a cover and would prefer to make an original song instead.
“Pete wanted to do a Billie Holiday cover and I was like ‘No, let’s write something together’,” she told BBC 6 Music. “I like writing songs. He’s an amazing songwriter and I’d love to be able to say that I wrote a song with Pete Doherty.”
