Amy WinehouseBritish jazz singer Amy Winehouse has taken part in a charity gig in aid of Mencap and paid tribute to late soul legend Donny Hathaway by performing two of his hits – We’re Still Friends and I Love You More Than You’ll Ever Know.

As well as the covers, Winehouse also performed material from her current album Back To Black at Islington’s Union Chapel in north London.

Before she played Love Is A Losing Game, she revealed it as one of faves. “This is my favourite song from the new album. I always get a little teary when I play it.”

Mencap celebrates its 60th anniversary as a charity helping people with learning disabilities and their families.

Money raised from the gig, which is part of a series being put on and featuring other performers, will go to the Mencap Arts Awards scheme which provides grants to fund  arts projects for people with a learning disability.
