The reason for jazz songstress Amy Winehouse cancelling two gigs in London this week is because she has split from her chef boyfriend, according to tabloid newspaper reports.
The singer’s two performances at the city’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire on Thursday and Friday were postponed at the last minute, blamed on a mystery illness. Her website said the two gigs will be rescheduled for the end of May.
Photographs of the star shopping for alcohol at a Tesco supermarket in Camden, north west London just hours before the first cancelled gig prompted rumours she wasn’t actually ill.
According to the Daily Mirror, Winehouse refused to perform after ending her relationship with Alex Jones-Donelly.
A newspaper source spotted Winehouse drinking in a hotel near the venue on Thursday, when she was meant to be onstage.
The party-loving star has previously cited Jones-Donelly as a calming influence on her.
