Troubled jazz songstress Amy Winehouse is expected back at work on Saturday, despite cancelling a string of gigs to recover from last week’s hospitalisation.
The Rehab hitmaker was taken to a London hospital last Wednesday after collapsing following a three-day drink and drug binge.
She pulled out of her support slot for the Rolling Stones in Germany on Monday to continue her recovery, but organisers of this weekend’s V Festivals in Staffordshire and Essex are optimistic she’ll perform.
A spokesman for the event says: “We have not been informed by either Amy’s record company or her management that she won’t be appearing at this year’s festival. Unless otherwise informed, organisers are expecting her to appear as planned.”
Meanwhile, a spokesman for the 23-year-old singer refused to confirm British tabloid reports she is currently in the US seeking counselling and detox help.
He said only, “She is resting under doctors orders.”
