Israeli band Teapacks are to represent the country at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Helsinki.
The band, who have found fame in their home country for combining traditional sounds with laid-back rap and tongue-in-cheek lyrics, were chosen by an internal panel of judges.
The song which they will take to the contest will be chosen from four contenders on February 27.
Israel will be hoping for a better result at this year’s Eurovision, following a disastrous year in 2006 when Eddie Butler’s ballad Together We Are One finished second from last with just four points.
As a result, Teapacks will have to compete in the semi-final on May 10, to try and win one of ten places available in the contest final on May 12.
