Kiss rocker Gene Simmons has finally married his long-term girlfriend, actress Shannon Tweed, in a ceremony at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
The couple – who have been together for 28 years and have two children, Nick and Sophie – finally announced their engagement last month, and were wed in front of 400 guests, with the nuptials filmed for Gene’s reality show Gene Simmons Family Jewels. His publicist Dawn Miller later offered her “congratulations to the new married couple” on her Facebook page.
Gene – who was born Chaim Weitz in Israel in 1949 – is known for his womanising ways, but recently said that it was time for him to settle down.
“I’m 62. I’ve been doing a lot of wacky stuff for an awfully long time — the band, the thing, traveling around the world and all that. There’s nobody I’ve ever loved. There’s nobody I’ve ever said ‘I love you’ to,” he admitted. “I even find it difficult to say ‘I love you’ to my mother, but I love Shannon with all my heart and all my soul and always will.”
Gene had been seen proposing to the 54-year-old – who is a former Playboy playmate – on the last episode of the most recent season of Gene simmons Family Jewels.
