Troubled singer Amy Winehouse has an unlikely fan in the shape of British Prime Minister Gordon Brown - who has declared himself as an admirer of the star.
Brown isn’t fazed by the singer’s turbulent personal life, because he is in awe of her vocal talents.
And the Labour party leader believes any negative press the Back To Black star receives is unjust – insisting the soul sensation is simply “misunderstood.”
He tells the Daily Mirror: “Amy is incredibly talented, with an incredible voice. I’m a big fan. She may be troubled but as much as anything I think she is simply misunderstood. She is as talented as she is misunderstood.”
