Pink’s Campaign Against Pork

Published on November 08, 2006 with No Comments

PinkAmerican rocker Pink, who recently started to reveal her Jewish background, is on a quest to stop the slaughter of pigs.

Appearing on The Paul O’Grady Show on Channel 4, 27-year-old Pink, real name Alecia Beth Moore said: “I want to rescue pigs. The ones that are about to be eaten, those are the ones I want to rescue,”

Maybe she’s hoping that less pigs for meat consumption will be less temptation for fellow Jews.

When asked if she eats bacon, Pink gave the standard Jewish answer of, “no! no! no!”

Over the last year in a series of interviews, Pink has been revealing more details of her Jewish background.

An active support of animal rights group PETA, has even put a Hebrew tattoo on her arm honouring her mother.

During August when Hollywood actor Mel Gibson make a series of anti-Semitic comment which he blamed on alcohol, Pink defended him by saying: “I’m a fan of his work. I think anybody with opinions like that needs well-wishing. And I’m Jewish. Alcohol makes you do crazy things.”
