Maroon 5 Go For Remix Album

Maroon 5 are teaming up with hip-hop superstars Mary J. Blige and Pharrell Williams to release a remix album of the rockers back catalogue of work.

The group have brought in a range of popular urban stars to reinterpret their biggest hits on the forthcoming Call + Response: The Remix Album, which is set to hit stores next month.

The main body of the reworked tracks come from the band’s first two LPs: 2001′s Songs for Jane, and It Won’t Be Soon Before Long, released in 2006.

Mary J. Blige tackles Wake Up Call with superproducer Mark Ronson, N.E.R.D. star Williams remixes She Will Be Loved, and rap producer Swizz Beatz takes on If I Never See Your Face Again – the duet between Maroon 5 and Rihanna that was released earlier this year (08).

And the rockers are delighted with the results.

Frontman Adam Levine said: “I’ve always found it really interesting that a group of people looking at the same painting can all see different thing. That was the idea behind this record, to take a few of our songs and have them interpreted by some of our favourite artists. We were really blown away by what they came up with.”
