Legendary sixties pop star and celebrity Marianne Faithfull has beaten breast cancer.
The 59-year-old born in Hampstead, north west London to Major Glynn Faithfull, a World War II spy and Baroness Eva Erisso, a Jewish Austrian cancelled a forthcoming tour after revealing she was diagnosed with cancer in September.
“Marianne Faithfull has made such a successful recovery from breast cancer that doctors have given the go-ahead for her to resume touring commitments in spring next year,” said spokesman Rob Partridge. “Because the disease was caught at its very earliest stages, however, no further treatment has been necessary and she is making a rapid return to full health.”
Now, her postponed tour is due to start next year.
More recently, Faithfull appeared on the big screen in Sofia Coppola`s film Marie Antoinette.
