Amy WinehouseBoozy songstress Amy Winehouse has been shortlisted for two categories in the prestigious Brits.

The 23-year-old North Londoner is a favourite to win Best Album for her critically acclaimed Back To Black, as well as British Female Solo Artist.

A source close to the star said: “Amy is really pleased to be shortlisted and honoured that some are tipping her to win. She’ll probably go out now and have a pint or two to celebrate.”

Other top Jewish talent to be nominated includes George Michael, who is up for the British Live Act award.

As well as homegrown talent, the Brits also recognise international artists. Among kosher nominees this year are Pink, who is shortlisted for International Female Solo Artist and Beck for International Male Solo Artist.

Meanwhile veteran folk rocker Bob Dylan is nominated in two categories – International Male Solo Artist and International Album, for Modern Times.

The awards will be handed out at a star-studded ceremony at London’s Earl’s Court on Valentine’s night, 14 February.
