Spielberg Gets Another Award

Steven SpielbergSteven Spielberg has another award to add to his mantelpiece – a Kennedy Center Honor.

At the 29th event organised by The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the ET filmmaker collected the collected the award on Saturday night.

Others recognised at the event in Washington DC were Dolly Parton, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Smokey Robinson and Zubin Metha.

Bombay-born Metha is currently the music director of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, a role he has had since 1968.

“Steven Spielberg’s films make him one of the most successful and accomplished directors of all time,” said Kennedy Center Chairman Stephen A. Schwarzman.

According to Forbes magazine, Spielberg’s fortune is $2.9bn.
