Actress Tori Spelling loves her gay icon status – because she is a “huge fan” of homosexuals.
The Beverly Hills, 90210 star admits she took her role in gay-themed movie Kiss The Bride as she wanted to reward her loyal gay fans.
She said: “(The gay theme) was probably one of the top things that made me want to do the movie. I’m a huge fan of gays. They love me; I love them. They consider me kind of a gay icon, which they’ve labelled me as.”
And Spelling’s homosexual-loving credentials were confirmed when she was ordained as a minister in order to officiate at the wedding of two male fans at the California bed and breakfast she runs with her husband Dean McDermott.
She added: “They said ‘We have this idea. We want you to perform the ceremony… we’re huge fans, it would be so cool if Tori Spelling married us.’ I haven’t done any since… but I’m open. I’m free, my schedule is wide open.”
