Coen Brothers Rule Out Sci-Fi Flick

Published on December 24, 2007 with No Comments

Filmmaking siblings The Coen Brothers have ruled out ever making a science-fiction movie – because the idea of spacesuits baffles them.

The brothers, who are tipped for Oscar glory next year with their latest film No Country For Old Men, have made films inspired by a number of different genres, from noir, to screwball and even a musical of sorts.

But setting a film in space is one they’ll never try.

“Neither of us is drawn to that kind of fiction,” says Ethan. “I don’t think we could get our minds around the whole spacesuit thing.”
