Movie producer Brian Grazer will serve as guest editor for a section of a Los Angeles newspaper later this month, becoming the first of four guest editors a year.
Grazer - who will be responsible for the Los Angeles Times’ Sunday commentary section – will begin his new post on 25 March, with his first task to choose topics and assign them to writers.
“We asked Brian Grazer to kick off the program because we wanted to tap into his creative vision. His career is powered by an endless curiosity, and we thought it would be fun to hitch a ride along the way,” says The Times’ editorial page editor Andres Martinez.
And The Da Vinci Code filmmaker is looking forward to his new job.
“One big interest of mine is the impact of technological and cultural change,” he says. “My hope is that by asking a really interesting group of writers and artists to focus on this subject, readers will gain a better understanding of the world we live in.”
The Los Angles Times also announced future guest editors will be drawn from the worlds of politics, business, culture, entertainment and sports.
